That spread puts hillside houses, historic districts such as Rossmoyne and Niodrara Drive in Verdugo Woodlands, and a mixed-use downtown in one city. The city lists four freeways that serve it (I-5, SR-2, SR-134 and the 210), and we choose the one that suits your second address.
Moves inside Los Angeles and Orange County are billed by the hour, with rates on our pricing page; a long-distance move gets a binding estimate instead. Plus, 1% of our revenue goes to environmental projects.

Movers in Glendale, CA: Signs, Curbs, Hills and Freeways
Glendale is one of the Los Angeles County cities we serve, and here most of a moving day is settled before the truck arrives. Here is what the city's rules say and what our crew does about them.
Temporary “No Parking” signs: start 30 hours ahead
Glendale handles temporary “No Parking” signs through written city guidelines. The Engineering Division at 633 E. Broadway approves their use, and the Police Traffic Bureau verifies each posting. Signs must be up at least 30 hours before the posted start time, and enforcement can begin no sooner than 24 hours after the Traffic Bureau's approval.
Verification happens only Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., never on weekends or city holidays, so a Monday move needs its signs posted and verified the week before. One posting is valid for up to seven consecutive days, and a longer job needs new signs and a new check. Each sign goes up:
- about 35 feet from the next one, with a separate sign on each meter post on a metered block;
- no lower than 3 feet and no higher than 5.5 feet;
- marked with the dates, times, exact address or block, reason, issuing agency, and the date and time it was posted.
When you book, we tell you how many feet of curb the truck needs at each address and for how many hours. The signs then cover the stretch the crew will use.
Truck size, sweeping days and permit districts
Glendale Municipal Code 10.36.130 calls any vehicle over 8 feet wide, 8 feet high or 23 feet long a “large vehicle” and limits it to two hours on a public street, unless more time is reasonably needed to load or unload. A commercial vehicle may stay parked in a residential district for up to five hours, with the same loading exception (GMC 10.36.090). Our truck stays at your door while we load, then leaves.
Sweeping hours are enforced as posted even after the sweeper has passed, and where the signs also warn of towing, police may remove parked cars if the signs went up at least 24 hours earlier (GMC 10.36.120). In Preferential Parking Permit Districts, a resident permit lifts posted time limits but not posted “No Parking” zones or times. We check the sweeping day for both addresses before setting the start time.
Downtown buildings, condos and office moves
Downtown Glendale is shaped by the Downtown Specific Plan, a mixed-use urban design plan comprehensively updated on March 26, 2019. The Americana at Brand opened in 2008 with some 75 shops, restaurants, apartments, condominiums and an 18-screen cinema.
Move rules for condo and apartment buildings come from each manager or HOA, so as apartment movers in Glendale we ask for them before booking: which elevator, what hours, and where the truck may load. When a building asks for a certificate of insurance, we issue one at $50 per building, as listed on our pricing page.
Walt Disney Imagineering and DreamWorks Animation both rank among Glendale's ten largest employers on the 2024 list. Office moves in the city follow our commercial moving service: after-hours or weekend scheduling, labeled workstations, and IT equipment disconnected, moved and reconnected. Next to homes, we keep truck loading out of the 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. nighttime window, when noisy loading of boxes and crates is unlawful under GMC 8.36.100.
Hillside streets and historic districts
Glendale straddles the Verdugo Mountains, and roads in its hillside areas can be narrow. For a hillside address, we check early where a truck can stop and tell you before moving day if the carry to the door will be long; on an hourly job, that walk is part of the time.
Rossmoyne, Glendale's largest historic district, has 503 Period Revival homes on gently curving streets, developed from 1923 and largely built out by 1950. In Verdugo Woodlands, the Niodrara Drive Historic District has 32 single-family homes built between 1912 and 1962, on a street defined by a stream bed crossed by several bridges. In houses of that age, we cover floors and door frames before the first carry and take furniture apart where a doorway is narrow.
Freeways, surface streets and long-distance moves from Glendale
Of the four freeways the city lists, SR-134, the Ventura Freeway, has exits at Pacific Avenue, Central Avenue/Brand Boulevard, Glendale Avenue and Harvey Drive. Westbound it ends at US-101 and SR-170, and eastbound at I-210 in Pasadena.
The city's 2013 project page notes that the I-5/SR-134 connection does not serve every direction, so some traffic between the two freeways uses surface streets. That year, in a joint project with Burbank, five signalized intersections on the Glendale side were modified and cameras and detectors added to manage incidents at peak hours. When a route crosses between I-5 and SR-134, we allow for that surface-street stretch in the schedule.
A long-distance move out of Glendale is priced as a binding estimate built on distance, weight and the services you pick. Heading east, the 210 meets SR-57, then crosses I-15 and, about 10 miles farther on, reaches I-215 in the San Bernardino area; westbound it ends at I-5. We set the departure route and the loading hours with you when you book.
