Brea Moves, Birch Street to the Hills

Overview

Brea Moves, Birch Street to the Hills

Brea incorporated in 1917, and its name, Spanish for tar, recalls the oil fields that built the town. Today it's known for a lively downtown along Birch Street, the Brea Mall and an unusual civic tradition: the Art in Public Places program, which has placed more than 185 sculptures around the city since 1975. Housing ranges from older neighborhoods near downtown to the large planned communities built east of the 57 from the 1980s on, and Olinda, a small hillside enclave along Carbon Canyon Road.

Moves change with elevation. Downtown condos and apartments usually need an elevator reservation, a loading plan and sometimes a certificate of insurance. Hillside homes can have steep driveways and streets with little room for a truck, so we confirm the approach first. The 57 runs through the western part of the city past Brea Mall and backs up at rush hour, and Carbon Canyon Road toward Chino Hills is narrow and winding — a route we avoid with a loaded truck when there's a better option.

You can look up our license CAL-T201327 with the California Bureau of Household Goods and Services, as well as USDOT number 4312802. Rates are hourly and shown on our pricing page, minimums and packing are covered in the FAQ, and our long-distance crews can take your household from Brea to any state.

frequently Asked Questions

Can't find the answer to your question?
Most do. Buildings typically require an elevator reservation and set loading times, and some ask for a certificate of insurance; send the rules and we plan around them.
We do. We check the driveway grade and street width, then choose a truck size and parking spot that keep loading safe.
Yes, through our white glove service, with individual wrapping, padding and custom crates for delicate or oversized pieces.
Only when it makes sense. The road is narrow and winding, so a loaded truck usually takes the freeway route instead.
Two to four weeks ahead is comfortable for most dates. Summer weekends and month-end fill first, and weekday dates carry a lower hourly rate.
