We plan each job around the address, not the city as a whole. Truck placement, the length of the walk from door to truck and the freeway it takes afterward all change between these areas, and the notes near the bottom of this page go through them one by one.
Jobs inside the city run on hourly pricing, with every rate on our pricing page, and out-of-state jobs are priced another way, explained under long-distance moving. Rates differ by weekday, and a Monday-to-Thursday booking comes in below the Friday-to-Sunday rate.

Movers in Anaheim: What Changes From West Anaheim to the Hills

Movers in Anaheim: What Changes From West Anaheim to the Hills
Anaheim's Oversized-Vehicle Rule and the Loading Exemption
Anaheim bans oversized vehicles from its public streets: anything longer than 22 feet including its load, or both wider and taller than 7 feet. A truck that is actively loading or unloading is exempt, but only at the curb right beside the home or building, or within 400 feet of it when that curb can't be used because of its layout or posted restrictions. Our first question about an Anaheim address is therefore what the curb outside it looks like.
When a posted restriction covers that curb on your date, the city route is a Parking Variance Request, which must reach Public Works Traffic Engineering five business days before the move. If street sweeping is the only restriction, the form points to Public Works Operations instead.
A variance never permits parking within 7.5 or 15 feet of a fire hydrant, in a public alley or in a fire lane, and once one is granted, the affected signs must be covered for the approved period and the space coned off. We note hydrants and alley-only access while planning the job, because no variance changes those.
Anaheim Hills: One Master Association, 39 Sub-Associations
Anaheim Hills takes up the city's eastern end and began as a master plan: Texaco Industries took over the land in 1970 and announced an upscale community of homes, estates and townhomes, with construction starting in 1971. Today the Anaheim Hills Planned Community Association covers 2,289 homes in 39 sub-associations and maintains the landscaped show slopes, parts of the interior slopes and the entry monuments, while its Architectural Committee meets on the second Tuesday of each month.
The master association's public page says nothing about moving days, so any limits on moving times or where a truck may park are set by your sub-association or property manager. Ask them as soon as the date is set. Proof of insurance, if requested, comes as a certificate at $50 per building, and changing sub-associations may mean paying for two.
The Colony Downtown and the Platinum Triangle
Downtown, the Anaheim Colony Historic District follows the boundaries of the German colony founded in 1857, framed by North, South, East and West streets. The City Council adopted it in 1997 as Anaheim's first and largest historic district, and it holds more than 1,000 qualifying structures in about 1.8 square miles. Before any furniture leaves a building here, the crew covers the floors it will cross and pads each door jamb on the way out.
The Platinum Triangle, the district around Angel Stadium, Honda Center and The Grove of Anaheim, is changing from low-density commercial and industrial land into high-density housing, office towers and retail. Stadium Lofts, 1818 Platinum Triangle and the Gateway apartment homes were finished by 2009, and OC Vibe was announced in 2020. We found no published move rules for buildings there, so we ask the manager about entrances, elevator booking and insurance ahead of time, and approach via State College Boulevard or Katella Avenue, the district's main arterials.
SR-91, Santa Ana Canyon and Rush Hour
Inside Anaheim, SR-91, the Riverside Freeway, has junctions with SR-57 and SR-55, and the Platinum Triangle is also reached from I-5 and SR-22. East of the city the 91 runs through Santa Ana Canyon, where commuters between Orange County jobs and Riverside County homes create the congestion traffic reporters call the Corona Crawl. The 91 Express Lanes, a toll facility opened in 1995, run from the SR-55 junction in Anaheim to I-15 in Corona.
Because every hour of the job is paid, for a trip toward Riverside County we time the departure so the loaded truck isn't in the canyon at commute peak. The Transportation Corridor Agencies said in July 2026 that groundbreaking on the 241/91 Express Connector was expected in November or early December 2026, with completion in 2029. Once that work starts, we check lane closures on the canyon stretch the day before a move.
Jobs between Anaheim and a neighboring city such as Yorba Linda or Orange follow that same hourly pricing. Every such job has a 3-hour floor, which becomes 4 hours if the address sits 30-plus miles past the edge of our service area, and our pricing page shows what an hour costs for each crew size on each day of the week. Other cities we serve are on the Orange County hub.
Leaving Anaheim for Another State
Heading east, SR-91 runs through Santa Ana Canyon to its junction with I-15 in Corona and ends at I-215 and SR-60 in Riverside, which gives a truck leaving the east end of the city a direct path to I-15. An out-of-state move leaves the hourly model behind: its price comes as a binding estimate worked out from the weight of your goods, the mileage and any extras, and our long-distance movers deliver to all 50 states.
The curb rules above still apply on a long-haul loading day: the truck stands beside the house, or within 400 feet when that curb is blocked, and it is never left on the street between 3 and 6 a.m. Tell us the destination when you first call, so the estimate and the loading-day plan are worked out together.
