Moving Services in Dana Point

Dana Point fits harbor condos, resort-side estates and older beach neighborhoods into a few coastal miles. Many addresses sit behind gates or up steep streets, so access is the first thing on our list.

Dana Point Moving, From the Harbor to Capistrano Beach

Overview

Dana Point Moving, From the Harbor to Capistrano Beach

Dana Point became a city in 1989, when three coastal communities — Dana Point, Monarch Beach and Capistrano Beach — incorporated together. The harbor sits at its center, framed by the headlands, with the Lantern District's shops and condos just above it. Toward Laguna, Monarch Beach and Niguel Shores include gated enclaves, and many homes perch on bluffs with views down to Salt Creek and Strands beaches.

Access is the recurring challenge. Guard gates need the crew's names in advance, condo buildings near the harbor expect elevator reservations and sometimes a certificate of insurance, and bluff-top streets have little room for a truck to stop. Pacific Coast Highway is the main road through town and slows noticeably on summer weekends, so early starts are the norm for us here.

Green Moving is licensed with the California PUC (CAL-T201327) and USDOT (4312802). Moves are billed by the hour — see our pricing page — and the FAQ explains minimums and packing. If Dana Point is your last stop in California, long-distance moving takes you the rest of the way.

Moving in Capistrano Beach

Capistrano Beach is the southern end of Dana Point, across San Juan Creek from Doheny State Beach, with its own ZIP code, 92624. Its streets climb from Pacific Coast Highway up the bluffs, and the homes range from older beach cottages to newer hillside houses, with the private, gated Beach Road running along the sand. Steep grades and short driveways often mean a smaller truck or a longer carry, and gated addresses need the same advance guest-list setup as Niguel Shores.

What Dana Point Clients Say

Fast, professional, and hard working! I would absolutely recommend this moving company. Because our elevator was out of service, Oscar and Mailo carried all our things up the stairs. 5 stars

Review from Google
Jason and Tim were excellent during our move. They were friendly and worked hard to get our furniture moved safely to our new home. Of special note is their moving of our couch. It was heavy and impossible to get through the stairwell. They ended using a manual pulley system to get it down from the 4th floor! The communication I had with the coordinator, Julia, was also very consistent. I would recommend this moving company to anyone looking for experienced movers!

Review from Yelp
Oscar and his crew moved my 3 bedroom house in about 8 hours. They did such an amazing job. The guys were all gentlemen and interacted with my young children so great. I couldn't have asked for a better moving experience. I was stressing so hard over moving but they literally handled all of my things with such careful hands. They made moving day easier than expected. Thanks Green Moving. I will hire again.

The Way We Handle Dana Point Moves

Five steps built around gates, bluffs and harbor-area buildings.
01

Access planning

Gate procedures, elevator bookings and driveway grades are reviewed for both Dana Point addresses.
02

Crew names to the gate

The crew list goes to your guard gate or association a day or two before the move.
03

Wrapping and crating

Furniture is blanket-wrapped; art and glass get extra layers or crates as agreed in your estimate.
04

Loading on the bluff

The truck is placed where it can load safely on a sloped street, even if that means a longer walk to the door.
05

Setup and final check

Pieces are reassembled and placed, and we walk the rooms with you before the crew heads out.

frequently Asked Questions

Can't find the answer to your question?
Yes. Share the gate or association contact when you book, and crew names plus any insurance paperwork they request are sent ahead of time.
We do. Harbor-area buildings typically require an elevator reservation for a set window, so book it to match your move time and pass along the building's rules.
That's settled before move day. Based on the grade and curb space, we choose a truck size and parking spot that keep loading safe, even if the crew carries a bit farther.
It can slow the drive, especially on weekends. Early starts help, and weekday dates are smoother when you're flexible — they are also billed at our lower Monday-to-Thursday rate.
Yes. We can coordinate access with a property manager or a neighbor and keep you updated by phone through the day, so you don't have to fly in just to unlock the door.
